Frequently Asked Questions
How old are the vines?
The vineyard was established in 1985 and vine age is 10 years up to 21 years old.
How long is my adoption?
Each adoption is ongoing, in the past we have had the adoptions renewed every 12 months, this is no longer required. We would like to think that as an adoptee you will be in touch with us at some stage, whether you are attending a function, visiting the cellar door or purchasing wine via our direct mail order. We do however leave it up to you to let us know if you move or your details change so we can adjust our records accordingly.
What do I do with my Vine Adoption Parent Membership Card?
Use your parent membership discount card on wine purchased by direct mail-order or at the Cellar Door.
What do I do with my Vine Adoption tag?
Your vine tag has your name or name(s) on it. You have two options?
1. Visit the vineyard and put the tag on your vine; or
2. Send us your vine tag and we will place it on your vine for you, we can also take a picture of your vine (tag attached) and send via email so you can see your adopted vine.
When is the best time to Visit?
The Whispering Cellar Door is open daily between 10.00am and 6.00pm.
Are there any restrictions with visitation to my vine?
YES, visitation will be restricted during the months of February till April. This is when bird netting is applied over the top of vines while the fruit is developing and prior to harvest. If you happen to visit during this time and depending on what activity is taking place in the vineyard then it could still be possible to view, but it's not guaranteed.
Who looks after my vine?
We do, it’s all part of our service. Enjoy your wine and come and visit your vine!
