Whispering Hills Vineyard

Established 1985.

Whispering Hills is nestled in a natural amphitheatre above the township of Seville. Yarra Valley wines made include Sparkling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and we also create a Bendigo Shiraz.

Taste and buy our Yarra Valley wines from the comfort of our cellar door which adjoins the boutique winery or taste our Yarra Valley wines from the barrel in the adjacent winery. In Winter, you can warm up by the open fire while enjoying a selection of cheeses from the Yarra Valley and a selection from France.

Our Vineyard

Total vineyard plantings consist of 8 acres set within a natural amphitheatre above the township of Seville. This setting influences the wines by capturing additional warmth and assisting in the even ripening of fruit.

The vineyard is planted upon two different soil types, the grey soils provide structure to the wines and the red soils provide fruit definition and aroma.

Here you’ll be introduced to our brand of country hospitality, where you aren’t rushed. Take the time to sample our wines.  Here’s whereyou get close to our wine, our vineyard and winemaking (all within metres).  We are proud to discuss wine, it’s culitivation, growth and care and how we get the end product. Informative tasting notes are at hand. You might also retreat to on weekends you are likely to catch Murray to discuss vineyard and winemaking techniques, or possibly indulge in some barrel tasting from our latest vintage.

 

Our superb wines are produced from hand picked Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Yields are controlled to enhance quality, and our wines are only released in small quantities.
